Details for Hosting an Exhibition
The Wan Fung Art Gallery is pleased to host your
exhibition. In order to avoid misunderstandings, we emphasize the following
items. Please read this over carefully so that you could clearly understand all the
items of the agreement.
PERMISSION DOCUMENT
Before an exhibition can be put on display in
Beijing, the gallery must first receive permission from the Chinese
Ministry of Culture. The procedures are as follows:
1. You are required to send the following information about the exhibition:
a full description of the items you wish to display (including a written
artist's statement and photos, sizes and names of every artworks), the
biography of the artist(s), the specific dates of the exhibition, and
any other facts or information which are pertinent to the exhibition.
Please note that all written information must be translated into Chinese.
2. The information for the exhibition should be sent at least 90 days
before the exhibition is scheduled to go on display. The gallery is
not responsible if the information is not provided in time and delays
or cancellations ensue.
EXHIBITION FEES
1. The fee for each exhibition hall is RMB 3,000/day.
The gallery will charge an additional 2 days charge (RMB 6,000) for
preparing and removing the exhibition. The charge includes electricity, use of the gallery's facilities during the exhibition.
2. We will do our best to assist with press releases and other publicity,
including news coverage in Chinese and English newspapers. However,
as specific advertising is not included in the fees, please indicate
if you wish to pay additional fees for advertising your exhibition.
3. The work required for preparing the exhibition is not included in
the exhibition hall fee. The cost is RMB 3,000/hall to prepare and to
take down the exhibition according to your instructions.
4. The gallery charges RMB 3,000 per exhibition hall for security costs
during the exhibition.
5. Payment plan: 30% of the total fees must be paid three months before
the exhibition opening date. The remaining 70% must then be paid in
full before the above-mentioned opening date.
STORAGE FOR EXHIBITION ITEMS
Because of our limited storage space, all items
must be brought to the gallery no earlier than two days before the opening
of the exhibition. All items must be removed within three days after
the closing of the exhibition. Any items left at the gallery beyond
this designated time period before and/or after the exhibition will
incur a storage fee of RMB 500/day.
SPECIAL MATTERS
1. During the preparation or installation of the
exhibition, the gallery must not be damaged.
2. The Imperial Archives is a Chinese Cultural relic site, so please
be especially sensitive to the building and the grounds (fire and smoking
are forbidden).
3. Unless an additional contract agreement is made, doors must be closed
at 6:00 P.M. Any activities or events held after 6:00 P.M., the gallery
charges RMB 3,000 of overtime fee.
