云峰画苑将于9月20至29日呈献「荷韵•董仙舟油画展｣，展出来自辽宁的中国著名油画家董仙舟先生的约30幅精心油画作品。

董仙舟的荷花及风景油画作品，风格自然洒脱、烩炙人口。他取材于大自然，以他对生命激情和感悟，透过充满灵性、奔放而又淳朴的笔触，赋予作品深刻的活力。董氏既保留了写生的精准造型要求和灵活表现手法，亦巧妙地运用了粉系色彩，发现和表达不为常人注意的美感。他常常在炎炎盛夏，忘记了恼人的蚊蝇叮咬，驻足留连在柳荫绿荷前赞叹挥笔，又在凛冽寒风中，于白山黑水间舞动刀笔；每一幅作品，都记录了荷塘海岸的动人景致和画家的足迹，引起人们的无穷想象和思索。

Lotus Rhyme – Oil Painting by Dong Xianzhou

Wan Fung Art Gallery is proud to present the exhibition ‘Lotus Rhyme — Oil Painting by Dong Xianzhou’ from 20-29 September 2008. It will exhibit about 30 works by the famous Contemporary Chinese artist Mr Dong Xianzhou from the Liaoning province.

Inspired by the Mother Nature, Dong Xianzhou endowed his paintings with life and energy using his expressive, unrestrained and unsophisticated brushstroke. He retains the accurate depiction of forms as well as the particular style of expression from life sketching. In the summertime, he always forgets about mosquito bites and stings, lingers on under the shades of willows and in front of the sea of lotuses with no thought of leaving. In winter, he waves his brush and paint among the bleak wind, snow mountains, and deep rivers. Every of his works is a record of the beautiful scenes of sea shore and lotuses, and the footprints he left. His works stir up our emotion, imagination and speculation about world and life.

董仙舟于1954年生于辽宁省，1982年就读鲁迅美术学院，师从著名油画家周玉玮教授；1989年于中央美术学院油画研修班学习；1990年至今长期从事油画创作。董氏多次被邀请参加国内外大型展览及艺术博览会，成绩斐然。多幅作品被国际知名人士和机构收藏。

Dong Xianzhou was born in Liaoning in 1953. He studied in Luxun Art College in 1982 and was under the teaching of the famous oil painter Professor Zhou Yuwei. In 1989, he furthered his studies at the Central Art Academy and has dedicated to the art of oil painting since then.

Dong has been invited to take part in numerous exhibitions and expositions, and his works are widely collected local and overseas.
